First Haircut!!
It took me 19 months to grow it, and now these people are cutting off my pride and joy!!! (Ok, so it was getting pretty long around the ears, and I did get to fly a plane while the nice lady did it.)
Here is one picture - more to come soon in the album:

Underwhelmed on the train
Last weekend we all headed out to take Coop's first ride on a train!
Todd was excited, Keri was excited.
Coop was - uh... semi-lulled to zombie like status.

Motor mouth!
Cooper is doing lots of talking! At Grandma G's request, some of his best words:
Animal noises he knows (if you ask, what does a _____ say?" or he sees a picture of one)
Sheep = "Baaa"
Cow = "Moooo" (sometimes it still sounds like "maow"
Monkey = "Ooo oo oo"
Horsey = "Neigh"
He is close with Pig ="oink" but not quite, and sometimes he says "bar" when you ask what a dog says, but mostly (for me anyway,) he just squeals "DAW!!!" if he sees a dog or someone says dog. (if Potter barks, he says "NO NO!!!" which does NOT amuse Potter.)
He is still working hard on "Mouth" and "Nose" and "Ears" - both pointing at them on him or you and saying them - and doing pretty well. :)
He knows lots of things by site when he sees pictures and calls them by name:
Apple (sometimes it sounds like "affle")
Yo-Yo
Bus
Milk (he will head for the fridge to tell you it is time and go "Mil! MIL!!")
Snack (kind of "sack" but getting closer.)
Bun Bun (his bunny on his changing table)
Whaley-whale (his bath toy - which is "way way" to him right now.)
Elmo (holy moly, he LOVES Elmo!)
Ernie (it is kind of "Err-eeee", but getting better every day.)
Bert ("ber")
Cookie ("oookie")
We are working on Grover, because he has a Super Grover that he loves, but that is a mouthful!
He likes to sing parts of his songs when you sing -
Row Row Row Your Boat = "woah whoa whoa whoa boa...."
Twinkle Twinkle = "Up above"
Old McDonald = "Eeee, eye, eee, eye, oh" and the animal sounds he knows
And he does the motions for The Wheels on the Bus - he is really good at the doors going open and shut and the wipers going swish swish swish ("wish wish wish")
He has perfected Dada and Mama and Nana, and just this week we have had "Pop" too! (which makes poor Pop very happy - those "P" sounds are tough!) And also "ABBY!!!" his little friend who is neighbors with Nana and Pop. :) And OF COURSE "All Done!" (which he tells us often and about everything from eating to riding in the car to playing with a toy.)
I am sure that Nana and his teachers would both say that I missed some, too. :)

What's up, Coop?
Bad Cooper's mommy - leaving everyone hanging with no updates. :(
Here's what's up with Cooper:
-Coop is the mack daddy dance fiend of the Toddler class at school - he LOVES to dance and listen to music - most afternoons I find him in the gym at school dancing with one of his teachers. Or playing with the big yellow ball - he also LOVES that!
-At school he makes lots of art projects - glitter and glue and watercolors and all kinds of fun things! Also on "Nana days" he gets to color with his big crayons - although he does like to try and sample them if you aren't looking!
-He is trying very hard to say parts of the face - he will touch your nose and say "Nah" and your mouth and say "Maw". His favorite things to say right now are "Da da" (oh how he LOVES his da da,) and "All done!" along with "Hi" and "Bye Bye" and sounds and words from some of his favorite baby dance jam songs.
- I confess - when he is out of his "baby safety zone" at home he wears a cushy pillow hat (ok, it's a helmet made of quilted material,) and at school he wears a snow hat a lot of the time - but his head isn't all black and blue anymore, so we must be doing something right. :)
- Cooper loves to sit in chairs - so I found this AWESOME one online that is sturdy and low and perfect for him.
(Ahhhhh -so comfy on my throne surrounded by all my stuff!)

Cheeeeeeeeeeeese!
The behind-the-scenes action of this little photo session was what Jared would affectionately call "a goat rodeo."
But the end result was worth it. :)

Hangin' at Nana and Pop's
Urban baby no more! We are waiting to close on my new house, so we are spending some time with Nana and Pop! This means lots of people around to pay attention to me - which is important, because I am such a cutie baby boy.
It also means that I get to have breakfast in awesome outfits like this one - my jammies, my crazy Nana and Pop house bib, and my cushy snow hat (worn whenever I am walking around now to keep me from bonking my head and getting any more goose eggs!)
Such a great ensemble!

Still smiling Nana!
OWWIE!
Sometimes I get a little a head of my self (literally,) and conk my noodle. But even though my bump looks bad, I am a-ok!

These socks are made for walkin'...
Coop LOVES to walk around behind his train. He is not good at turning around though, so when he rams something and gets stuck, he gets bummed. We spend a lot of time turning him around.

1 year picture preview!
We got a few preview shots from Coop's 1 year picture shoot this weekend:
So pensive
And his male supermodel pose (he did the total last minute turn-and-look-back-over-shoulder thing)

1 year check up!
Dr. Short confirmed what we all know - Coop is doing his baby thing fabulously perfect!
He is meeting his milestones wonderfully, growing and thriving and healthy and strong!
He is 29.13 inches tall, and weighs 21 lbs 2.1 oz.
Nana came with us to the doctor's office, and Mom is kicking herself for not taking along an extra grown up to all of his appointments! Lots of cherrios and songs and love kept him feeling pretty good, and even helped after his 5 shots. :(
(He still cried, but for the 1st time Mom didn't, so we are getting somewhere!)
Here he is showing off his tough guy bandaids on his chunky little baby thighs:

Woops!
Woops! First I had the camera but no cord at home, now I have the cord but no camera at work, so birthday party pics will have to wait.
As a consulation prize - here is a little bit of Coop looking steady and ready for walking (soon) for your Monday morning!

Clearly mom still doesn't have the video thing down
He will be a year old tomorrow and I STILL can't remember that you have to hold the video camera right-side-up? Oh Momma.
Anyway - we have kind of given up on the idea of Coop crawling, since he is standing up and "crusing" (daycare's word for working around the room on his legs while moving from piece of furtiture to piece of furtiture - which usually means walking is VERY close.)
And when he isn't doing that, he is doing this all around the house:

11 Months old!
HOLY MOLY!!! Cooper is 11 months old today!
Here is a picture of him with Harry Elephonte:
But of course getting Coop to hold still isn't so easy anymore:
Also - Cooper ended his 11 month Birthday by pulling up from sitting to standing TWICE on his own against a footstool!!! (Mom cried - she admits it.)

Must record Every. First.
It is Cooper's first bandaid!
It seems we caught our tiny baby toe nail on the inside of a sock and it tore, resulting in an owwie that needed some coverage and ointment.
Good thing it was the biggest "little piggy" so we could get a bandaid on it!
Don't worry though - nothing major, and Nana was there to double up on healing snuggles while mommy applied the tootsie first aid.

How to tell Cooper is teething
Poor Cooper has been sicky for over a week - first a cold that brought on an ear infection, and now a funky head and chest virus that has him feeling super crummy. Add to that the drainage from his healing ears, and the 4 top teeth the doctor pointed out that seem to be in a race to all come suddenly breaking through the top of his little gums, and he is one cranky dude.
A sure sign that teething is happening in Cooper's world is when fussiness is instantly calmed by the vibrating grape teether.
I know it isn't nice beause the poor kid is in pain, but it is kind of super cute when he bites down and you can just kind of see his whole body go "ahhhhhhhh" and the gentle buzzing noise kicks in.
Poor kid.

Cooper Playing
Snow Day!!
Coop is still nursing a little cold, so we are snuggled inside, but he is hard at play:

I just called, to say,
I loooooovvvveee you! I borrowed mom's phone to call you all and say so, but I can't get my tiny baby fingers to cooperate with the dialing - so I'll say it here instead!

Coop loves to bounce!!! (He also LOVES to scream - making his voice loud is his favorite right now! Oh boy!)

Happy Standing New Year!
So Coop decided while spending the night at Nana and Pop's on December 30th, that it would be a good idea to start doing this:
So we are Mr. Standing Up Guy now...

Happy 2012!
